The fencing guy dropped off a bunch of the fencing posts yesterday. But, he's not going to get started right away, as DH told he we aren't in a big hurry and part of where he needs to get to needs to still be smoothed out. Plus, with going with less fenced area, we are going to save about 30% off of what we were planning to spend, which sure helps, since there are/will be parts of the house the contractor blew the estimate on.
A guy from the building supply place is supposed to come sometime today to go over the windows. We've made a few changes, but nothing major. But, the framer told DH yesterday he wanted to come out because he had given us two different window bids and wanted to clarify what we want and the changes. Um..I have nothing on two different bids - just the one bid he emailed us months and months ago and that is the total we submitted to the bank as our cost. If he did do two bids, we are going to have to go with the one we agreed to the cost on (unless the other is cheaper - who knows). We took away a few windows and added a few, so should still be in the same ballpark amount. I'm not sure what time he was coming out, so I've been ready since 7:30 this morning. I had hoped to run into town for a few groceries, but still waiting to see if the guy will be showing up.
DD got her start date at her new job and was able to give her notice today. She's giving them about 2 1/2 weeks. Her immediate supervisor was bummed, but not too surprised. She'll have a few days off in between jobs. She has to do an orientation day on the day after I go to see her, but it probably won't be a full day, plus now she will be have off the day I fly in, so she can pick me up at the airport, rather than having my boss have to come get me. Even though I'll have to hang out by myself at her house for awhile on Friday, it's fine. Before she knew about this new job she wasn't going to be able to pick me up at my office until like 5pm (depending on the awful traffic), so I was going to have to figure out what to do, because my office closes at 4pm. I'm sure there are people that work later than 4, but since I get in at noon, I didn't really need 4-5 hours at the office. It's not like I have a desk there anymore. This way DD will pick me up, we'll go see the new office, visit with my boss for an hour or so and then we can leave early afternoon to spend the rest of the day/evening together.
Pretty boring week, for the most part so far, which is a good thing. We don't need any surprises or excitement right now. LOL. It rained most of yesterday and last night. Today is nice and sunny. Looks like it will be one day sun, one day rain, off and on for the rest of the week. We don't even have the roof sheeted yet. Eeek. They are starting to sheet the roof over the garage part today.
