Watch out!

This has been our weekend...a very energetic puppy who has to wear a collar! He's like a bull in a china shop, banging into everything. The snap near his neck was constantly coming un-snapped every time he moved so DH took some small zip ties and fixed that problem. He has to wear this thing for at least a week, and even though the vet said we could leave it off if we can watch him closely so that he doesn't lick his surgery site, I tried that and even watching him that close he went straight for it. I don't want to spend every second of the day with my eyes glued to him, so he can just wear the collar!

He still thinks he can do his normal stuff - like sit in your lap while watching tv. I spent a few minutes watching tv through the plastic. Or he thinks he can snuggle next to you in bed.  I'll be glad when this week is up and we can go back to normal!

  1. Try wrapping an ace bandage around the area when you go to sleep or when he is in constant view. Or, if your daughter has pre-wrap use that. Seems silly to do but may spare you and the household furniture some wear and tear for the week.

    1. hmm, not sure how I would go about wrapping up his neutering sight - he's just manage to chew a bandage off, I'm pretty sure. We'll survive it :)

  3. Oh my gosh, so darn cute! Poor little guy - still wants to snuggle up! What a sweetheart! Hope he's healing and will ditch the collar sooner rather than later!

  5. Your puppy is growing into a large dog! I have one of those too and he is a bull in the truest sense of the word. Wouldn't be without him ... great household security and property guard dog. It's always so funny to watch a cat or dog with one of those collars on ... they are always so bewildered by it LOL

  6. We painted a daisy on our dogs collar. Because that is the kind of people we are.

  8. Kim - DH wanted to paint a spiral design on it...since the collar can kind of spin around! LOL.
