A cleaning tip that actually worked

Well, what do you know. I actually found a cleaning tip that worked like they said it would!  This house has a white kitchen sink. I would never have a white one again. It has stains in the bottom that I have not been able to get out. That is until today and google

Here is a photo of my sink before

It's not the easiest to see the stains in this picture but it's the best I could get - but it had stains.

I sprinkled some dishwasher detergent and let sit a minute or so and then scrubbed a bit

The detergent was left under the sink by the previous owner. She was moving into a camper trailer and I use dishwasher tabs, so it's still been sitting under the sink, just in case I ever ran out of tabs, I guess, haha.

Voila! Clean and nearly stain free, for the most part.  The instructions did say that if the stains were really bad, to do this as step 1. Step 2 is to then use a bleach spray and then use Bar Keepers Friend. Thankfully, the dish detergent did the trick, as that is the only item out of the 3 that I had.

  1. I use bar keepers friend exclusively and it works great on a porcelain sink

  2. I use barkeeper's Friend or ZUD. I like my white sink and would never have stainless steel.

  3. I had a stainless steel sink before but it was badly scratched. Now I have this http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S39157641/ black sink in my kitchen. Love it.
