I think I mentioned awhile back I somehow misplaced a credit card. I looked in and around my desk and purse, but never found it and it's hasn't miraculously shown up. I looked online a week or so ago to see if I could just order a replacement card online and it took me to a link with a phone number to call or report lost or stolen card. I wasn't in the mood at the time to make a phone call that would end up taking menus and wait time, blah blah. Well, I was online today, making the payment and off to the right now notice it says "get replacement card". Well, that was easy, LOL. That's how I wanted to do it in the first place. New card it on it's way. I originally got the card to put the balance of the medical bills on. I got 2% cash back and 15 months to pay it off. Then I used it a few months ago, sitting at my desk, as I called our town lumber store to pay for the stuff the guy who did our garage roof access panels had picked up. I thought I returned the car to my desk drawer, but apparently not. Never seen it since. The only reason I really want the card replaced is because I currently have $15 in rewards earned. But, I can't use it (as a statement credit) until the balance is $25, so I need to just charge a bit more on it, to earn the remaining $10 in rewards so I can redeem it.
Then, yesterday commenter Diane said she uses the Walmart 5% cash back credit card. WHAT?!! I never knew there was such a thing! I probably spend $7000 a year at Walmart in grocery pick ups and online orders and am currently getting back 2% using my paypal rewards card. An extra 3% would give me at least an extra $200 a year in additional cash back/savings. Sign me up! So, I promptly did and got instantly approved and they already put the card in my Walmart "wallet" account and I'm good to go. I opted for the card that you can just use at Walmart. It has the 5% cashback and I don't need another card that I can use at other places. Thank you Diane! Every savings is helpful. I will also probably start seeing if more of my Amazon purchases can be made at Walmart.com.
We got our furnace filters and sprinkler system part picked up. The sprinkler guy texted dh in the morning and said, oops, forgot to set the part out by the office door before he left for vacation, but that his guys would be working at such and such address (putting in a system at a new business) if he wanted to stop there, they would have the part in the trailer, so we did that. That was our first stop and then of course dh wanted to stand there and talk to the guy for ever and I'm like we need to get going so that we can get the furnace filters picked up before they close - that was the whole reason for me taking off work early - because we had to get there before 5pm!
Loading a huge order of groceries in this new car will be some adjusting, LOL. The old car, though smaller, had a great flat cargo area when the back seats were folded down. But hey, at least now, with a car load of 2-3 weeks groceries, we can get on the on ramp to the freeway and get up to speed, haha! Not a problem in this car ;)
The small cattle ranch down the road is full of baby calves. OMG! I just love seeing them. I wish there was some shoulder on the road to pull off and just sit and look at them, haha, but there's not. And in just a few days the ground everywhere is starting to turn green. Spring is here! (even if it did snow a bit yesterday!)
And just like that it's Friday already again. I have no idea where this week went. I'm hoping for a quiet weekend. I need to get some cleaning done. I didn't do anything last weekend. And I need to get the chicken coop cleaned out, too. I got lots of to-do's on the to-do list. Let's see how many I actually accomplish.
The credit card merry-go-round can make ya crazy. I thought you would find the one that went missing. You might still.
ReplyDeleteI need to get my guest room back in order & give my floors some attention. So I have housework to do this weekend but I also see a nap or two in my near future. LOL
;)
I'm pretty sure now that I ordered the replacement card, the old card will show up! I have naps planned, too ;)
DeleteWe almost have a wreck when we see baby calves! So cute!
ReplyDeleteMy Belk card that I can use anywhere is having a 5% week or something, so I am going to figure out what all I can buy during this period.
Glad to help lol. I've had my card for years, but just found out about the 5% for online orders maybe a year ago. I rarely used it before I found out. It doesn't add up to much for me, but it's better than not getting anything back. I think I have about $25 in rewards for the year is all.
