Hint taken

Since dh didn't take the hint that I wanted to go to the big gift shop (and big antique store right across the street, of course, haha), I tried hinting again. But, honestly mostly I was thinking to myself I'm not sure I even want to go walk around where there's a bunch of people. Even with masks people are getting the Covid right and left.......but I said "well, now that the table is here in the entryway and the mirror on the other side, this empty wall is really bugging me LOL". Finally, last night he says "do you want to go out to the gift store to look for a painting to put there?" Yep, I do! So, we are planning to go today.

I did at least get the house vacuumed yesterday and then took a nice long nap in the afternoon.  I finally gave up on that order for the lawn mower maint. kit that shipped on 12/10 and requested a refund and ordered another one, that will hopefully get here. DH's power tool batteries that got refurbished are now apparently in usps lost land too. I really do not get how it could have shown tracking as "out for delivery" and then back to "delayed/in transit"!

So, we got the telescope set up where the Christmas tree was, pointed towards the eagles nest across the river. We got to view both birds sitting up there through it. So cool! This is my attempt at taking a picture with my phone through the telescope -  hard to do!

Of course, just looking through the telescope lens it's much clearer/sharper.

I'm not ready to go back to work, but work I must. I'm probably going to have a hard time getting up at my normal time again.

  1. I wonder if there are gadgets to attach I-phones/Android to telescopes? I gave up trying to hint and just say what I want to do. I think hint taking is a lost skills with age. While I worked last week it was so quiet and I was able to get caught up and ahead-now I'll be dealing with everyone elses frustration at it being 2021 and needing to get caught up.

    1. I don't always hint, but sometimes if it's something he thinks was his idea (LOL) it's better ;)

  2. I love that. I can see them, blur and all. There must be a way to use your phone with the telescope. When I outright say things, Tommy takes the hint hours later. When I am just musing aloud, he thinks it is a hint. Mostly, he just wants to get out of the house.

    1. I'll have to see if there is a way to take pics with this telescope. It's very strange - didn't really come with a manual. I figured there'd be a manual to explain stuff but I guess it's online (I hope!)

  3. Maybe it’s because I’m a widow but I don’t get hinting (sorry not trying to sound like criticizing), but as I’ve gotten older even more so I realize how important it is to be myself, put things out there, ask for what I need etc to my large family and others. Like if you want to go to town by yourself just say it and if there’s pay back like irritation etc. too bad so sad. Like I said maybe it’s being on my own but for me I can’t imagine not having alone time especially when you work at home. Could you just go to the gift shop by yourself? I like to browse and think things over, I think guys not so much.

    1. oh, it's no big deal really. If I wanted to really go, I'd just tell him or go myself. But,I know he'd like to look at the artwork too and help decide. I've gotten plenty of time without him as all my trips to see my mom/shop in the city have been by myself since she moved here in May. Sometimes when he thinks something was his "idea" then he thinks he's doing something for me ;)

    2. Yes he would probably like seeing art that would go in the entryway

    3. it was his idea for something with an eagle, so I'm glad we both looked and picked out something we both really liked.

  6. Hang in there with the USPS. I had a package that sat in the same place for 2 weeks, moved to another place (metro area of my state) and it sat there almost another week. Then it said it was out for delivery and then it said it was delayed for about 4 days or so. I did finally receive it. Checked status that morning, still said delayed. Received my mail preview and showed a pkg to be delivered, checked my status again and suddenly out for delivery. (2 hours in between checking) You will get it. We've had a few pkgs go the most unbelievable routes and did finally get them. None of them were emergencies so we just sat tight and everything showed up. I'm convinced yours will also. Ranee (MN)

    1. it's ridiculous that it takes that long for them to process a package! DD mailed me my birthday present early, on Saturday. I told her maybe it will arrive in time for my birthday at the end of the month!
