Saturday shopping

It was such a nice day outside yesterday. A "big sky" day, for sure. Fields starting to turn green again, blue sky and still some snow on the mountain tops. Very pretty.

We got to Staples first, so I could drop off the cell phone return package and then look at office chairs. Of course, one of the one's I wanted him to be able to try out was still in a box and not put together. It was the one by La-Z-Boy, the most expensive one. Plus it's hard to tell just sitting in for a few seconds, compared to sitting in for hours. There was one (good priced at $179) he said felt really comfortable but it was only available in gray - not really matching our decor much. There was different La-Z-Boy one (same price as the one in the box, but again gray color) that he sat in and said it was very comfortable. So, we are going to assume the other La-Z-Boy one is probably the same way. Most likely just the same chair, but just made to look a little different in style.

So, we've decided to go with the La-Z-Boy chair he couldn't try out, but I had already researched before we shopped and the same exact chair is $148 less from Walmart (3rd party seller) so I am ordering it from there. That's a huge price difference, but I have learned over the years to price shop and most times it does pay off.  I've also been eyeing an office chair, for myself I like the looks of, and that $148 savings is almost what that chair costs, at $142. When I first came across this chair, the site it was on wanted $230, but using Google lens search with a picture of the item, I found it elsewhere for $142. I'm not ordering my chair yet....I don't really need one, it's just a want and so I'm holding off.

Then to Walmart to pickup our order. They weren't very busy at all at 3:15pm Saturday for their curbside pick up. I'm not having trouble getting eggs, now, so that is nice. The price for 18 cage free eggs did come down a bit, from $8.98 to $8.04. This will be my first grocery trip to see how much milk I will use now that I'm only using about 3 oz for breakfast (to add a bit to the ready to drink instant breakfast) compared to my typical 13-14 oz I pour in the large glass with the powdered kind. I bought 3 gallons, instead of 4, but still have almost 4 gallons to use, because I had bought a gallon at our town store last week. Usually, though I've been buying 4 gallons to last the 3 weeks.

We went back to that burger place we tried last time, that was really good. DH gets a burger, fries and large coke. I get a chicken sandwich and a vanilla shake. For the same price as Wendy's, we get the same thing, but I also get the shake, when before I ordered no drink at Wendys. I think this will be our new go to place.  Plus, where it's located, near Walmart, it's then easy to head out "the back way" out of town, instead of going back down the busy road, back to the freeway. It's a more relaxing route, as well. Lots of cows LOL. And who doesn't like seeing the baby cows out in the fields this time of year :)

It's always nice when I have the rare day I don't have to make dinner. DH had rented a movie on YouTube Friday night, that he said was really good and wanted to watch it again, and thought I'd like it. Charlie Wilson's War with Tom Hanks. So, we watched it on our tv (well, as usual when he watches tv from the living room, he fell asleep for part of it) and it was a really good movie. I figured him watching it twice, and me watching it, we got our money's worth out of the rental price.

One of these days I'm finally going to get the seating for up in the bonus room, so we can watch a movie up there in comfort. If I get my bonus the first of July, I think that's what I'll use it for. From the quarterly meeting we had on Friday, it's looking pretty promising. It's also (for a change) looking pretty promising to get the "extra" bonus. That extra is not a set %, but at the manager/owners discretion on how they want to divvy it out, but in the past, when I have gotten it, it usually doubled my bonus for that period.

DH had ordered an $11 fitting (auto part) that Amazon delivered yesterday. They sent the wrong part, some type of "flange" part. Well, dang, now he has to wait till the right one comes to get his project done. When I got on Amazon to report it as wrong item delivered and to get the item reordered, they said I didn't have to return the wrong item. Ok, that's fine. DH said it's an expensive part! He looked it up and it's $42. Too bad it's not anything he needs. Maybe I could sell it on Ebay and make a few dollars. It's small and light enough to ship cheaply in a padded envelope.

Today is the last of our sunny days for now. Starting tomorrow we are back to clouds and rain.
