Then while I was making dinner DH's computer completely died.....just what we needed :( It started making this clicking noise, wouldn't work. Got it shut down and tried to restart and error message "no operating system found". So, now gotta spend money to get him a new desktop tower. THANK GOD I had just bought that new external hard drive the week before and backed everything up!!
My $49 area rug I bought online arrived. 5x8 size. I really like it....assuming the folds flatten out of it
I think the step brother issue is resolved. I tried to call him yesterday morning, but had to leave a message. I know he was going back to see my mom again yesterday. He emailed a really nice email that I got this morning. He explained why he reset all her passwords, gave me list of what he changed. Said she was doing great yesterday and she seems to have contacting the realtor all under control, so he's just going to be a fly on the wall, and help her if she needs it. He said her replacement credit card arrived and I might need to help her get it activated. He said for sure he will keep me in the loop with anything he does for her.
Bummer about the computer but thankfully it was backed up. What kind of external hard drive do you have, and more importantly, is it easy to figure out how to use it?
ReplyDeleteIf you ever need another cheap dog bed, look for a comforter. That's what we are currently using for our dog. It was cheap (super clearance) and I like that I can wash it. $22 is still a good buy, though.
Love the rug and colors! Your house looks so warm and inviting. You mentioned getting a mattress for your log bed. How does that look now that you can actually use it?
Glad you got things resolved with your step-brother. Family conflicts of any kind suck.
I bought a Toshiba 1TB external hard drive from Walmart for $50. It's just drag and drop files, is what I did. Super easy. Though I think there is a way in Windows to also just say "backup". I just copied all his pictures and documents files over to the drive. Took about 10 min at most. So, I have the mattress and a white alternative down comforter. I haven't bought a duvet cover yet, so it's not quite the "look" for the room I want yet. That's a great idea about the comforter for a dog bed. I have 2 twin comforters I have no use for anymore. Why didn't I think of that?!

ReplyDeleteI'm looking to see what we can buy for him. I kind of look at computers cost like cellphones. They last a few years (I think DH got this computer 5 years ago)and I think it cost about $400, so $80 a year prorated out for cost, isn't too bad. Cheaper than a dang cell phone and usually last longer, haha.

DeleteI just backed up my blog just in case, as I would hate to lose 4 years worth of memories. And I'm glad things are sorted with your step-brother. It would have been a shame if a misunderstanding made things difficult between you. I absolutely love that rug too!
ReplyDeleteI need to back up my computer! it's getting very old too. Thank on the rug. I'm happy with it. It's nothing fancy or super quality, but for $49 I was very surprised. I'm sure a padding would probably help, too, but so far I don't think I really need it.
