New phones

How is it that my cup of coffee does not taste the same this morning? LOL. I made it the same as I always do. Same cup and everything, haha. I've been having a cup of green tea everyday and adding about a tablespoon from the big jug of local honey we were given. Get the health benefits of both and a good way to use up all that honey.

I just got an email from Verizon about getting a new iphone16 free with trading in your (working/non damaged) old phone and no plan upgrade required. This got my attention. We both have iphone 11's that we've had about 3 years now, I think. I've never seen an offer like this, it's always a free phone, but you have to upgrade to a higher plan, which I don't want to do. We are on their lowest data plan (because we are always home and not needing much data at all) and I don't want to spend more for a higher plan. I logged into my account and saw a banner with the offer, but when I clicked on it, it kept taking me to an offer for a free phone, but had to upgrade my plan because apparently "you have more than one phone on your plan". Well, dumb - why send me the offer if my account is not eligible?

So, I hopped on a chat to ask and the guy said he can get the offer set up for me on both phones being traded in and getting new iphone 16's at no extra cost. He was asking what color phones we wanted for each line and then I said "to clarify - I do not have to upgrade my plan?" he said no, you can keep your plan, no change. Done! So, in a few days we will have new phones. Whenever we've needed to upgrade (most always by necessity) our phones, I always end up choosing the oldest model iphones they have, since that is usually the cheapest, but even these last phones we got,  they cost me like $360 each. So, getting free new phones is great, and helps offset the $15/mo plan increase they just added this month. The order confirmation stuff he emailed me also confirms there will be no change to my monthly bill and no charge for these new phones.

DH used up a scrap piece of plywood and made some covers for the 4 big wood planter boxes we have on the back patio. When they are not full of flowers, Amos thinks they are litterboxes all winter, so we've been covering them with plastic. Now they are covered and don't look so tacky LOL.

It's snowing again.
