Boy, I had my head spinning in circles yesterday for awhile. The bank my work uses is this small local type bank and their online banking, while it has most all the services needed, the application of it isn't the best or most intuitive. Specifically, their electronic payments we can do that they call "eACH" payments. I don't use this payment method a lot, but when we have a payment that needs to get to someone quickly, this allows it to get into their bank account in 2 days. Awhile back boss had me start using it to reimburse myself and another employee for a monthly reimbursement we get. All's been working well, until this past month, when I had to add another employee to the monthly payment "batch". I thought I did it right, but apparently not. I apparently created another separate batch, one with the 3 of us, and one that had the original 2 of us was still there. So, today, the original 2 of us got paid twice into our bank accounts. Oops. It took me forever to figure out how to find the first batch, fix it and I still have no clue how it happened. I just kept opening different screens and finally found what I was looking for. Deleted the 2 recurring batches that somehow got in there twice and starting over! I'll just skip paying the 2 of us next month, who got duplicate payments.
Talked to my mom in the afternoon - all was good. She was just watching some tv and waiting for dinner to come a bit later.
Kitty spent most of the morning and early afternoon yesterday just walking around meowing. No clue what his problem was. Finally he came back upstairs and took a nap in my extra chair. More and more lately, the dog is coming back upstairs for visits and even starting to lay under my desk again. He used to do that with the other dog, but not usually on his own. Apparently he doesn't mind being up here with kitty too bad, he puts up with kitty cleaning his ears and head, LOL.
I called the pharmacy back this morning and they got the new prescription now. We'll go into town sometime this afternoon. Right now dh is plowing snow that we got a few inches of last night.
I just had to do up an invoice for a customer we haven't billed before so I didn't have an email to send the invoice to, as I do most all other customers. Nothing was listed on their Purchase Order, just a phone and fax #. So people still fax? We used to be able to fax via our email with some phone number through our phone system, but we don't have that phone system anymore and our receptionist is on vacation this week, so I can't ask her. So, I just called the phone number on the purchase order and the lady gave me the email address to send it to. Easier then having to print out an invoice, put it in an envelope and a stamp and then walk it down to our mailbox in the snow, LOL.
Not much else going on today. Back to work.....
I'm trying to get into a head space for a stressful 1:30 call. I have a later afternoon meeting and have worked well past 6:30 this week, so not feeling guilty a bit extending my mid day break.
ReplyDeleteI would have to get into a head space too, LOL.
Delete2 days to transfer cash "quickly"? Is it because that is a small bank? Any cash transfer large or small takes less than 10 minutes here regardless of the size of the bank.
ReplyDeleteMost likely, we've only ever used these smaller local type banks, so I'm not sure what the big banks offer. I know we can do a wire transfer that goes in same day, but there is a fee for that and we have to fax in the request and it's not quick and easy. But for their "eACH" transfers it takes 2 business days. Still faster than online bill pay which is now taking up a good 10-14 day for vendors to get their checks. Between processing time and slow US mail time.
DeleteI can do a personal cash transfer, like via Paypal or Zelle and it's instant.
DeleteDid you ever figure out what kitty wanted when walking and meowing?
ReplyDeleteNo I didn't. I mentioned it to my dd and she said her cat does that all the time for no apparent reason.
DeleteUp until a year or so ago, our cat was always pretty non-vocal. I miss those days. Lol
