I'm really trying to stay on top of my Christmas season to do list (for a change in personality!) I've gotten my cards (not too many) ready to go, just waiting on my Christmas stamps to get here.
I got a billing from the urologists office for dh's initial visit (last Sept) finally. But, it doesn't appear to have processed through insurance yet and I have no idea why. It's just a flat $408 the statement says I owe. Nothing on it like most medical billing statements that show amount billed to insurance, what they w/o, what they paid, etc. I almost got online to just pay it and then thought wait, I don't think this has been through insurance. I looked up his claims and for some reason it's still showing as "in process". Well, I'm not paying $408! Plus, if it really hasn't been processed yet, then it should now be covered in full, since he met his deductible and max out of pocket.
I got a notification this morning my mom's medication device was either disconnected or not connected to wi-fi. oh....c'mon!! This was 8:45. I had just woke up 15 minutes before and was sitting down at my desk, taking my first sip of coffee. Mom called. She said she had her 4 pills in the cup but she thinks she might have done something wrong as now the display was saying "locked - contact your caregiver". Then she also remembered that is caused by her pressing the button again after it's already dispensed. So, that told me it's not unplugged, it's something with her wi-fi. It was too early for me and it could just be her internet is down, rather than she actually unplugged her internet. I got on line with her provider but it just said connection status unavailable. I'll wait until after lunch and if my app is still showing disconnected, I'll call her to see about it. At least now I realize that if her wi-fi is off, the machine can still dispense and remind her - it just won't send me notifications. I can deal with that for a few days, if necessary and swing in to her place on Wednesday when we are nearby her and see what's going on with it.
Another rainy day. The weather is just a bit too warm to be snow. Maybe tomorrow.
Young neighbor caught dh by the mailbox or somewhere outside and told him that they aren't going to be scrooges this year, they are putting up lights this weekend. He just smiled and said oh, that's nice. Last night we were watching tv (dh had his eyes closed, LOL) and I saw something with flashing lights out front. We have lots of glass at our front door so can see through but can never tell from sitting in living room if it's out on our street or the main road on the other side of that. From the lights I thought maybe its UPS here late, but we weren't expecting anything. Then we looked out the door and realized it must be "retired" friend from town, who does sanding and snow plow in winters for the state. A minute later dh gets a text from him with a picture of our house with the lights. Later when he went by the other way he took another pic and texted it to dh. (this is the guy that wanted to know if we have stock in the power company). He texted to dh "it looks so nice - thank you guys for getting into the Christmas spirit" So that was really nice of him to say. DH told him thanks for the pics -we don't drive at night so we don't get to see what it looks like haha! Friend is also the type that visits with lots of people all the time. He's always showing us pics of something he took on his phone and I told dh I'll bet he'll be showing the picture of our lights to others ;)
Now, dh came across some neat Christmas lights system where this whole light show thing is projected on the front of your house. He wants it, LOL. Like he's serious. This is the link, fun to watch the different videos. It's the system to operate that is costly, not so much the various videos projected. Dh was envisioning opening our gates so people could drive through one gate and out the other to see it. I said we'll talk about it next summer...

With snow predicted tonight and so much rain (which could quickly change to icey roads) today I'm not going to the city this weekend. I just saw mom last weekend and had done all her laundry, so she's good with that for awhile longer. I picked up a few things needed at the town grocery store yesterday when we went to get dh's antibiotic pills prescribed for his biopsy. If dh is feeling ok after, I will probably stop in a store and grab some things.
Today I need to do some vacuuming. Hopefully it won't make my elbow worse, as it's just starting to feel better. I will try to use my left hand/arm as much as possible. I also need to get out the ornament hangers and put back up 2 that kitty knocked down on the upstairs tree. The hangers they were hooked too are somewhere on the tree but too hard to find now. Linda - he has not tried to climb the tree again, so that is good. He sure acts like he's thinking about it, but I just pick up the spray bottle sitting on the end table and he knows that's a no.
A mile down the road from us is a few houses that sit on the other side of the main road, but they still have a river view because they are down lower there. There was a large house for sale for the last 3 years. On an off the market and they'd change the price from $975,000 to 875,000, back and forth. Finally it sold late last summer. Supposedly it was used as a B&B, but in the 5 years we've been around I have never seen it advertised as one to stay at. The couple that bought it is now using it as some kind of yoga/meditation type retreat. Anyhow, dh was chatting with UPS driver and he said the lady orders LOTS of stuff and he will have like 50 packages in one delivery - often! Their driveway is dirt and at teh top gets steep and when snow comes he won't be able to get his truck up at the top near their door. He said he told her the other day that if he has one or two packages to drop off to her he will walk them up the hill to her door, but if he's got 50 packages he won't be doing that. He said her jaw dropped and she was just dumbfounded by this. LOL Hello?!! you live in Montana, where it snows, in a house that is not easily accessible by a big truck in snow and ice.. These are the dumb people moving to this state and why this state is changing and not for the better.
And honestly....this place is not what I would be looking to stay at if I wanted a retreat, LOL. Let's see you have a main road right out front. You have a river rafting outfit next door and nothing too fancy on the other side in terms of neighbors and a busy boat launch kitty corner across the road. I wonder what they ended up selling it for.
Oh, and I totally forgot to mention the Thanksgiving fly by we had! OMG. So, dh and SIL were outside DD, mom, and I were in the living room doing decorations. We were sitting on the floor, but my back was to the windows that look out at the river down below (we are high bank), dd was facing the windows. We heard the little plane coming and then loudly/quickly go by. DD said OMG and by the time I turned around it was passed. She said the plane was right level with the house. DH came inside right then and said did you see that??!! He was right down below our roof line, over the river! DD said yes it was. At most he was probably 150 ft off the river, but about even with the top of the bank in our back yard.
DH was like wow! that is soooo not acceptable. (remember 500 ft up from land is FAA rules). Dinner was still cooking so he and SIL got in the car and drove the 7 miles down to the little airport. The pilot had just put his plane in the hangar when dh pulled up and the big door was still open. DH recognized it right off! It's the brother in law to the friend dh used to have (the one that drinks alot and stopped communicating with dh after we started building). DH has met this guy a few times and when we were building he kept flying low over (to say hi, so he says). At that time dh politely asked him to please not do that anymore, it makes him uncomfortable. His next flight out (this was 2 or 3 years ago) he crashed his plane trying to take off from somewhere. So, ya......not a big fan of this guy flying literally in front of our house. DH was pretty mad (though SIL said he kept his cool) and lit into this guy about it. Got his tail number. This guy also now has a criminal history and I think is now considered a felon (long story) but dh kind of threw that in his face (I think the guy thinks most people don't know about it, but of course they do) about he probably also doesn't want to get reported to the FAA since he's on probation...guy then changed his attitude. Says he won't do it blah blah. Just stay the f'ing 500 feet like you are supposed to - is it that hard to do???? This guy also used to be a police officer....one of the bad ones, obviously from knowing his other history.
From being Facebook friends with drunk guy and his wife I know they usually spend Thanksgiving with this brother in law, from pics she always posts every year. I'm like it's Thanksgiving - why isn't he with family? But, the funny part is just days before I finally decided to unfriend the couple. They have had zero interest in being our friends the past 3 years, even though dh tried several times to talk to friend to figure out what his problem is. So, I had unfriended them. Dh was still friends on FB and said yep, she posted their family photo later that day. DH said I'm sure per pilots story they all got a laugh that dh is such an asshole, he's mad about someone flying level with his house. (though I'm sure that's not how he told it). Our SIL said he should turn him into FAA.
It's cool to have a picture of your lit up house from the road. I think based on the idiot pilots past flying, a report might save someone's life someday.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the pilot!! I think the only reason dh gave him another pass is because he knows him
DeleteWhat this guy does is serious, so I think reporting him would save a life.
ReplyDeleteyou are probably right.
DeleteNext time the pilot does a stunt like that, your DH should just report him to FAA without confronting the guy again. You never know. Some people can be dangerous a..holes. Why do people like to break rules? What do they gain? Will never understand.
ReplyDeletethat's the plan. Dh doesn't usually give second chances too often. I don't know why people think they are above laws and rules. Not to mention take ownership of what you did. When dh he walked past him to get a pic of his tail # dh said "congratulations, you win the prize for flying the lowest over some houses"
