One of our local friends commented on Facebook yesterday that we are having more winter this spring than we had winter in winter. LOL. And woke up to it snowing again this morning, with more predicted today. I had to take some mail items out to the mailbox this morning...in my long underwear, hat and boots.
My eye keeps doing the same thing early morning. Last night DD suggested I adjust my alarm times during the night to try to beat the 4:45-5ish problem. So, I put in ointment at 11:30, 2 and 4:30. After I did the 4:30 I really thought I was going to make it through the night now...nope. At 5:30 it sloughed off again and today feels back to being a bit irritated every time I blink (and blurry, of course). At this point, since it only seems to happen around the same time every morning, I think I'm just going to try getting up and staying up, until I need a nap again. I have not had any problems if I put some ointment in and take a nap for a couple of hours during the day. So, that is what I am going to try tomorrow morning. If I can get 2-3 nights where I don't have the pain, it should heal better and get rid of the blurred vision covering over my eye. Worth a shot.....even though I am not an early morning person, but I will try. I'll just get up and watch something on Netflix on my ipad. Or maybe if it hasn't sloughed off again, the vision will be better and I can just get some work done and see better doing it! That would be nice.
My mom's state just extended the stay home order until May 4th, so we won't be moving her until after then, at the earliest. I am going to have to email her new place and see if they will offer a deferral in extending her lease to start later. We had set it up to start April (was moving her 3rd week in April), so we've already paid for April. I'd hate for my mom to have to pay double rent for who knows how long, just to hold this. Hopefully they will be cooperative, or I'm not sure what to do, then.
When we had our online company meeting the owner said that expense reports/auto allowances were put on a freeze. So, I didn't submit my little $30 a month reimbursement that I get towards my internet costs. But, yesterday boss was approving all the March expense reports for everyone, so I asked her and she said to keep submitting it. Basically, it's just the auto allowance and obviously there won't be any entertainment type expenses like they usually have, since people can't go see customers, but expenses we have to continue business are ok. So, I'm getting my $30 bucks.
The last time I made pancakes (from scratch) I always have batter leftover that I throw out. This time I used it up and got 4 more pancakes and put them between parchment paper and in a ziploc bag and froze. I tried out 2 of them last night for dinner. Just as good, though I may have nuked them just a bit too long. I had one salmon fillet left, so I made that for DH, while I tried the pancakes. Felt good that I didn't waste that batter and I still have 2 more pancakes to have another time. Yesterday's lunch for me was the leftover mac and cheese from the previous nights dinner of tomato soup and mac and cheese. Dh has been feeling the past couple of months that every time he eats meat now, it doesn't seem to agree with him. So, I'm trying to cut down, but dang, that really cuts out a lot of my regular meals we have and it's hard enough figuring out what to make for dinner every night.
I think I'm going to go in to our little town grocery this weekend. I have not been there since all this stay home stuff started. Maybe they have TP. I'd also like to get all the various cans of beans and make another batch of "taco soup". DH really likes that and it makes enough for like 4-5 meals. There is a little bit of hamburger in it, but didn't seem to bother him.
Well, that's about all I can read/type right now. Hoping for a good night tonight.......
PS. I'm sure my posts have typos....sorry, I usually try to go back and review but just too much right now.
I hope things work out well for your Mom. I know it is hard for her to be in limbo about her housing.
ReplyDeleteHoping your eye is much better soon.
thank you. I'm sure it will all work out eventually. Like everyone, I think I'm ready for a lot of things to be better soon!
DeleteI just pop leftover pancakes in the toaster, like you would with a frozen waffle. I find the texture is much better than if they are microwaved. (We still don't have a microwave, and I'm not missing it at all. I'm using the shelf for my cookbooks!)
ReplyDeleteI'll try that next time! Speaking of waffles, eggo's sound kind of good, haha.
DeleteI never was one for having cold cereal in the house, even though I know parents like it because kids can fix their own breakfasts. But, I confess that when store brand frozen waffles went on sale $1/box when the kids were younger, I'd stock up, and let them go to town! We aren't much for syrup, but love them with butter and jam!
DeleteNow you are just making me hungry! LOL
DeleteMan I feel for you having the eye pain. Hope it gets better soon! That is hard to wait to move mom. There are so many people/things in limbo right now it seems like. Geez. What a strange time.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It sure is a strange time.
DeleteI moved last weekend. At least in our county, you can read the "stay at home order" for yourself and around here "moving services" are spelled out as essential. So, it would really be up to you if you wanted to move your mom.
ReplyDeletewell, that's good to know. If it were a local move, I'd do it, but since it's across 2 states and I need Dd and her DH to help, I'd rather not put them in potential exposure. She's got a good safe place (as any) to live right now, so I think we'll just wait it out.
