I'd call it a success!

Well, my initial discount from the first 30 days of using the Progressive Snaphot device is a success. My car/driving is an 8% discount. I didn't expect a huge discount - I do drive a long distance to work 3 days a week, but I am happy to have gotten something.  DD's car got a 30% initial discount! I was hoping her vehicle would qualify for a good discount as she only drives a few miles a day and some days not at all. My payments have now gone down a total of $37 a month (not to mention the $11 a month from taking the sold car off recently).

  1. Every little bit helps. The only person I ever knew who got snapshot actually got worse rates for it b/c they were a "late braker".

  2. Indeed, every bit helps. I am not very happy with their program, since while I was with my parents, and they drove odd hours, long distances and pretty much 7 days a week at all times, they got a really good discount. But when I tried it on my solo policy, I qualified for some meager amount (4% I think?) driving carefully, literally no miles (though some weekend rides), etc. When called, they said it was because my premium was already low they could only go so low, regardless of if I would've qualified for a higher discount. Oh well. But indeed, almost $40/mo is awesome!
